Frequently Asked Questions
Below are some frequently asked questions and answers about the Live 5-2-1-0 App.
1. We are trying to discourage kids from spending time on screens, should we still promote the app? The app does not encourage kids to spend more time on their device than necessary – simply to set a weekly goal, log their activities, and choose/redeem their reward.
2. What age groups is the app appropriate for? The app was designed for children ages 8-12 years old. However, users can create their own activities, goals, and rewards in the app so it can be adapted to suit children younger than 8 and older than 12 as well.
3. I have more than one child sharing my device, can I use the app with all of them? Yes! Up to 6 different profiles can be created on the app.
4. Does the app collect any personal information about my kids? No. The only information kids are required to enter is their nickname and age. You can read more about our privacy policy here.
5. Do the rewards cost money? The app’s Reward Bank has a mixture of rewards – some are free activities and others cost money. We encourage parents to review the list of rewards with their kids and select ones that are appropriate for your family. Your family can also enter in your own rewards.
6. Do harder goals earn more tokens? Live 5-2-1-0 recognizes that when it comes to behaviour change, everyone starts from a different place. No matter what goal you set, completing a goal will earn you 1 token to spend at the Reward Bank.
7. We want to work on behaviours other than healthy eating, physical activity, and screen time – can we do that on this app? Yes! Use the ‘Other’ category to work on habits outside of the Live 5-2-1-0 message. You can also click ‘Create Your Own’ to come up with your own activities that are not listed in the app.
8. How does my healthcare provider see My Progress Report? You can show your healthcare provider your progress report by opening the app on your personal device at your appointment. There is no way to electronically share your progress with your healthcare provider.
9. Is the app offered in other languages? While Live 5-2-1-0 hopes to make the app available in other languages in the future, at this time it is only available in English.
